Juneteenth is Freedom Day, commemorating the emancipation of African-American slaves in the United States, and thanks to some enlightened legislators, now a federal holiday.
Please join us for the Juneteenth—Freedom Day Festival, on the Square in Woodstock, IL on Saturday, June 17 from 3-5:30 pm. It will be a historic celebration of Black Emancipation featuring speakers, musical performances (featuring the awesome Ms. Darlene Benton), readings, food trucks, vendors, and fun family activities.
Hosted by Gloria Van Hof. Free and open to the public. Information at the Facebook page and the Facebook Event invitation.
